Aquage Hits the Beach: Our Coastal Cleanup with SoundWaters

On October 20th, the Aquage team is trading desks for sand. We're spending two hours cleaning up a beach right here in our hometown of Stamford, CT, alongside our partners at SoundWaters, because the water we love deserves a little love back.
Who is SoundWaters?
SoundWaters is a Stamford-based nonprofit that's been protecting Long Island Sound since 1990. Through hands-on education, citizen science, and hundreds of hands-on volunteer days, they teach over 30,000 students a year what it means to care for the Sound; many of them through full or partial scholarships. They also run regular coastal cleanups and salt marsh restoration projects to keep the shoreline healthy for the next generation. Teaming up with an organization doing this work in our own backyard felt like an easy yes.
What We're Doing on October 20th
Our team is spending two hours on the ground (well, the sand) picking up litter and debris along the Stamford coastline; the same plastic and trash that eventually makes its way into Long Island Sound and beyond.
Giving Back All Month Long
The cleanup is just the start. All October, we're donating a portion of every sale on Aquage.com to SoundWaters — so every bottle you buy this month helps fund their education and conservation work too.

Part of a Bigger Commitment
This cleanup fits into work we've been doing for years:
Since 2020, we've partnered with Plastic Bank to help collect and recycle over 14 million plastic bottles before they ever reach the ocean. Every Aquage formula is built on AlgaePlex, our blend of eight marine botanicals — kelp, Irish moss, and algae — sustainably harvested since 1998 using methods that let the source plants regrow. And our packaging is recyclable Ocean Bound Packaging, made from plastic that was headed for the ocean, not virgin material.
A beach cleanup, a bottle made from ocean-bound plastic, an ingredient harvested without stripping the source — it's all the same idea: take less, give back more.
